David Winchester

David Winchester, aka “Winnie” is a very successful 28 year old Australian bodyboarder, who came second overall in the 2010 IBA Bodyboarding World Tour.

The highlights of his career were scoring his first Riptide Magazine Cover and also winning the Riptide peer poll in 2009. He was also crowned Australian Pro Tour Champion in 2008.

Dave is recognized as one of the best and most versatile riders to have ever ridden a bodyboard and has influenced immensely bodyboarding as we know it today. He will focus this year on both the Australian Pro Tour and the IBA World Tour.

He loves all genres of music including popular top 40! When he is not out riding, his favourite pastime, are hanging out with his partner and daughters and believe it or not, he is also crazy about fishing!

Dave loves fresh, healthy foods but always enjoys the indulgence of a little chocolate to finish off.

Dave never goes out bodyboarding or fishing without his Sun Zapper Zinc. It provides him with the physical barrier of zinc against the sun’s harmful UV rays. He loves the way it goes on and the fact that it is effective for up to 4 hours in the water!
